Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy and Stress-Management Training for Obese Family: Case Study

Abstract

|
There were several researches that cognitive behavioral therapy for obese family is more effective than for obese individuals, and stress-management training is very helpful to deal with obese problem. Thus, this study introduced two family cases including obese mother and children. Cognitive-behavioral therapy including behavior-modification strategy and stress-management training were administrated and ten sessions were offered for each children and mother. As a results, dysfunctional eating pattern and stress level were decreased. Finally, the implications and the limitations of this study were discussed.
